This high altitude trek in close proximity to Tibetan plateau in North Sikkim is quite demanding. It is perhaps the most interesting and fascinating in Sikkim, The route from Lachen to Green Lake from there to Muguthang a small hamlet inhabited by the Dokpas, the semi nomadic tribes, the route from Muguthang to Yomesamdong is located in one of the most beautiful region of Sikkim.

This trekking route is designed to lead you from Zemu glacier towards Tibetan Plateau and thus encountering with Drukpa tribe, living here since generations, who have been grazing their domestic animals in the Sikkimese highland. For the completion of this trek , one has to cross the passes of Theula – 5,212 m, Lungnakla – 5,035 m, Sebula – 5,352 m. to Yumthang valley, starting from Sikkimese Bhutia village : Lachen to Lachung . Daily trekking time varies from 4 hours to 7 hours and night rest at Jakthang, Yabuk, Rest Camp, Green Lake, Theulacha, Muguthang – 4,520 m, Thangu – 3,920 m, Lashar – 4,425 m, Yumesamdong – 4.624 m, Yumthang – 3,612 m.
