The first persons to catalogue butterflies in Sikkim were Maessers H.J. Elwes and Otto Moller, in 1888 they had listed 536 species for the Entomological Society of London. The common families found are Nymphelidae, Lemoniidae, Papilionidae and Hesperiidae. (Details)
